Recommended preventative measures from the General Directorate for Health Promotion*:

It’s important to practice strong safety precautions and help avoid the spread of respiratory diseases, such as those listed below:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use 70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • When coughing or sneezing, use the safety sneeze, which involves covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or the inside corner of your arm.
  • Avoid touching your face, nose, mouth and eyes with dirty hands.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects of common use in houses, offices, closed places, transport, meeting centers, etc.
  • Stay home when and if you are experiencing respiratory problems and go to the doctor if any of the following symptoms appear: fever higher than 38 ° C, headache, sore throat, runny nose, etc.
